Online Qur'an Academy

Terms and Conditions

Last updated 27 October 2026

These terms explain how Tilawah Guide works: what you get, what it costs, and what we each expect. Please read them before you book. If anything is unclear, message us on WhatsApp on +44 7780 669604 before you pay.

The short version

  1. About these terms

Tilawah Guide ("we", "us", "the academy") provides online one-to-one Qur'an lessons. "You" means the student, or the parent or guardian booking for a student under 18. By paying for a package you agree to these terms.

  2. Our lessons

Lessons are private, one-to-one, and held online. Each lesson is 45 minutes. We will send you the link to join on WhatsApp.

    • Weekday Package: £175 a month, 5 lessons a week, Monday to Friday.
    • Weekend Package: £75 a month, 2 lessons a week, Saturday and Sunday.

Teaching hours are 6 PM to 10 PM on weekdays and 1 PM to 5 PM on weekends, UK time. Prayer breaks are excluded from teaching hours. Lessons are tailored to your goals and pace.

  3. Booking and places

We take up to 4 students on each package. Once a package is full, we keep a waiting list and contact people in the order they joined when a place opens.

Your place is confirmed when your payment is received and we have confirmed your start day with you on WhatsApp. If we cannot offer you the day you asked for, we will suggest the nearest one. If we cannot offer you a place at all, we will refund your payment in full.

  4. Fees and payment

    • Fees are charged in pounds sterling, monthly and in advance, by card through Stripe.
    • Your subscription renews automatically on the same date each month until you cancel it.
    • We never see or store your card details. Stripe handles them.
    • If a payment fails, we may pause your lessons until it is sorted out.
    • If we change our prices, we will give you at least 30 days' notice, and the new price applies from your next payment after that.
  5. Cancelling and refunds

Your 14-day right to cancel. You can cancel within 14 days of paying, without giving a reason, and get a full refund. If you asked for lessons to start within those 14 days, you will pay for the lessons you have already had, worked out as a share of the monthly fee.

Cancelling after that. You can cancel at any time before your next payment date by messaging us on WhatsApp. If you cancel before that date, you will not be charged again. You keep your lessons until the end of the month you have paid for. We do not refund unused lessons in a month you have paid for, except where these terms or the law say otherwise.

If we end your lessons. If we stop teaching you for a reason other than your conduct (see section 9), we will refund any lessons you have paid for and not received.

  6. Attending lessons

Please join on time. A late start does not extend the lesson, which still ends at its scheduled time. If you have not joined 15 minutes after the lesson begins and have not told us, we will treat the lesson as missed.

  7. Rescheduling and missed lessons

    • If you tell us at least 4 hours before a lesson that you cannot attend, we will move it to another free time within the same billing month, where our timetable allows.
    • If you give less than 4 hours' notice, or do not attend, the lesson counts as taken and we do not have to make it up. We may offer a make-up lesson as a kindness, but it is not guaranteed.
    • If we cancel or miss a lesson, we will offer a make-up lesson or take it off your next payment.
    • We will tell you in advance about any days the academy is closed, such as for Eid. Lessons we miss because of a closure are made up or credited.
  8. What you need

You need a phone, tablet or computer with a working camera and microphone, a reliable internet connection, a quiet space, and a copy of the Qur'an. Lessons that cannot go ahead because of your equipment or connection count as taken.

  9. Conduct

    • Please treat your teacher and the lesson with respect.
    • Do not share your lesson link with anyone else.
    • Do not record a lesson, by audio, video or screenshot, unless we have agreed in writing. We do not record lessons without your agreement either.
    • If conduct is seriously disrespectful or unsafe, we may end the lessons. We will refund any lessons you have paid for and not received.
  10. Students under 18

If the student is under 18, a parent or guardian must make the booking, agree to these terms and be contactable on WhatsApp. We recommend the lesson takes place in a shared part of the home, with a parent or guardian nearby. If we have any concern about a child's welfare, we will raise it with their parent or guardian first.

  11. Progress

We teach with care and to a high standard, but how quickly you progress depends on your practice between lessons. We cannot promise a particular result or timescale.

  12. Your information

We keep the details you give us, such as your name, WhatsApp number, package and lesson times, to run your lessons and contact you about them. We do not sell your information or share it with anyone else, except Stripe, which processes your payments. We keep it only as long as we need it. You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time by messaging us on WhatsApp. We handle personal information in line with UK data protection law.

  13. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Beyond that, if something goes wrong with our service, our responsibility is limited to the fees you paid for the month in which it happened.

  14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. If a change affects you, we will tell you on WhatsApp at least 14 days before it starts, unless the law requires it sooner.

  15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in the UK, you can bring a claim in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
